Are you a retired athlete that is wondering now what?

I see you, a retired athlete that is looking for answers on what you should do now?

You've spent your whole life following the directions of coaches, your parents and following the example of your teammates and friends.

You're not scared of the hard work of transitioning into the professional world, in fact you're already looking forward that but there's something missing. Something Just doesn't feel right.

 You miss your teammates, your coaches and the person that you used to be when you'd get right down to the buzzer. You miss high fiving everyone after a hard play. You miss your coaches patting you on the back as they witness you succeed at something you worked so hard at mastering.

It's the feeling of belonging

As athletes, when we leave our sport even if it is for reasons that are putting yourself first... We all miss the feeling of belonging.

The ultimate belonging we felt on that field. The confidence in knowing on that field we could do anything, that the people with us will have our backs regardless of what we do because were united in the understanding that;

We

Will

Win.

Or die trying.

When we leave athletics we have thousands of hours and dollars invested in creating our identity around our sport. We surround ourselves with people who have similar ideas, values and goals and when we leave our athletic organizations we begin to understand what our life looks like without them.

The Athlete Identity crisis is real.

Not knowing who you are without your sport is both valid and real.

We know now that some athletes experience an identity crisis after they retire from their sports. We can understand that this has to do with the extreme amount of time and money that goes into developing a high caliber athlete. It is an investment of a family unit, along with the extension of the investment to the athletes life partner and friends.

Retired Athlete Coaching can help with the Athlete Identity Crisis.

Using Experience, and the Energetic Death framework Kelsey provides space for you to heal.

By focusing on redefining your identity after your athletic career has come to and end this six month program provides you with actionable steps. You and Kelsey work t together begin to understand what your life will be like now that you are no longer participating in your sport in the capacity that you were before.

Using her experience as a retired athlete, certified educator and athlete advocate Kelsey walks you through the realities of confronting retiring from your sport.
